MPS thyristor solid soft starter

 

1 Overview

MPS1 series high voltage solid state soft start device adopts a number of  high voltage and large power thyristors which are serial-parallel connected as the key switching component in high voltage circuit. It controls the motor voltage by changing the triggering angle of thyristor, so it can also meet the demands of different voltage and current during starting process. The MPS1 increases the motor voltage gradually by preset curve, and accelerates the motor speed smoothly, thereby the electrical and mechanical shocks to the grid or the motor itself are reduced. When motor speed reaches the rated speed, the bypass contactor will close, and the starting process will be finished. The MPS1 continues to monitor the motor and provides a variety of fault protections.

MPS1 high voltage solid state soft start device are applicable to large or medium sized high voltage motors for the voltage reduction soft start.

3 Working principle

Working Theory

MPS series devices can control the output voltage value by changing the trigger angle of thyristors. During motor starting, the devices will  gradually increase motor terminal voltage and smoothly accelerate motor speed to rated speed, so as to realize the soft start of large and medium motors, Block Diagram is showed in figure1.

◆ Ambient Temperature: -15°C to 50°C (the 24h average Temperature is no more than 35℃).

◆ Relative humidity: ≤95%.

◆ Altitude: ≤1000m；If altitude is above 1000m, please reduce the device capacity.

◆ Placed in room, without violent vibration and impact, degree of vertical inclination no more than 5°.

◆ No metallic particles, conductive dust and corrosive gas.

◆ Avoid danger of fire and explode.

◆ Note: Please notify when ordering if conditions exceed the above.
