TCS general introduction
1. Overview
TCS series high voltage reducing-voltage and compensating soft start device is suitable for reducing-voltage soft start for high voltage squirrel cage asynchronous motor and asynchronously started synchronous motors less than 50MW in steel, petroleum, chemical, metallurgical and other industries. The device has simple operation and free maintenance with a soft start characteristic of small and constant starting current, large and gradual increased torque. It is not affected by the change of environment temperature and the impact on the power grid is very small without electromagnetic interference. It is the international advanced soft start product.
In order to attain product seriation and unification of the soft start devices and other electronic control equipments, for the convenience of user's installation, commissioning, maintenance, management, and for improving the performance and reliability of the whole system, combining with more than ten years of experience and achievement, the company can optimize the design according to the user's site, and provide TCS products and complete sets of electrical control equipment.
2. Type explanation

For example, TCS3-20000/11,means 3 serial voltage reduction and compensation solid soft start devices, suitable for 11kV motors within max power 20000kW。
3. Working principle
TCS series device consists of voltage control device and reactive power control device, it also needs high voltage cabinets such as starting cabinet and running cabinet and other supporting switch cabinets. Voltage control device includes a transformer and a voltage control cabinet; reactive power control device includes one or two reactive power generators and one or two reactive power control cabinet.

4. Technical features
4.1 The grid side starting current is generally less than 1.5 times the rated current of the motor during starting(2 series is generally less than 2 times), and the minimum can reach the rated current;
4.2 The grid voltage drop is generally not more than 10% during starting, the maximum not more than 15%;
4.3 The requirement for power grid capacity is low, the installed capacity of transformers can be significantly reduced and the primary equipment investment can also be drastically reduced;
4.4 The starting torque is relatively high thus it can meet the demands of different loads;
4.5 It can be used continuously and it has high repetitive precision;
4.6 No harmonic, very low voltage drop , very low influence to power energy quality and no additional active power loss;
4.7 Fully enclosed structure, no environmental restriction, safe and reliable, long life, maintenance free;

4.8 By adjusting the transformer voltage ratio and reactive power current, the starting current which flows from bus bar can be limited within a certain range and the influence on the grid voltage.

7. Service conditions
Ambient temperature:not exceeding 50℃(24 hours average temperature not exceeding 45℃),and not below -10℃;
Relative humidity: ≤90%;
Altitude : ≤1000m;
Placed in a room without voilent vibration and impact, and vertical tilt of the situation not exceeding 5°;
no conductive dust and corrosive gas;
no fire and explosion danger.
Note: Please notify when ordering if the ambient temperature is below -10 for a long time or the altitude is over 1000m.
8. Ordering instructions
The following information should be provided when ordering:
According to the motor power and voltage to determine the type of the soft start device;
The motor rated parameters, motor torque vs speed curve and motor current vs speed curve should be provided;
The load type, the load moment of inertia and the load torque vs speed curve should be provided;
The minimum short-circuit capacity, maximum short circuit capacity, and the inherent load capacity of the power network should be provided;
The primary circuit diagram,cabinet layout diagram and electricity distribution room floor plan should be provided.
The cabinet color, wiring and other special requirements should also be provided.
